  05/10/2012 - Confidence in UK Upstream Oil and Gas

  Oil & Gas UK's first quarter 2012 business confidence index published Thursday reveals that the confidence of the upstream oil and gas industry across Britain has risen to 64 points on a 100 point scale. This is the highest since the survey was launched in Q1 2009, said the trade body.

  CGGVeritas has increased its cable-free acquisition capacity to 20,000 Sercel UNITE channels on a large, 1,500-square-mile multi-client 3D land seismic survey it is currently acquiring in Pennsylvania, USA.

  05/09/2012 - Centrica Spuds Cooper Well in Norwegian Sea

  Faroe Petroleum announced that drilling has commenced on the Cooper prospect in the Norwegian Sea (Faroe 30%). The exploration well will target the Cooper prospect located in PL477 in block 6506/11 on the Halten Terrace between the Smørbukk oil field, immediately to the east, and the Morvin oil field, to the west.

  05/09/2012 - Cairn Finalizes Agora Acquisition

  Cairn announced that, further to the announcement made on April 3, 2012, it has received all required approvals and completed the acquisition of Agora Oil & Gas AS ("Agora"). Agora is now part of the Cairn group of companies.

  05/09/2012 - Mediterranean O&G Granted Exploration Extension

  Mediterranean Oil & Gas Plc announced that the Italian Ministry for Economic Development has granted a three year extension until May 5, 2015 to the exploration permit BR269 GC, held by the Company's subsidiary Medoilgas Italia SpA. The Ombrina Mare oil and gas field is located in permit BR269 GC, which is offshore Central Adriatic.

  05/09/2012 - Wentworth Updates Well Test Ops in Tanzania

  Wentworth Resources Limited announced an update on its assessment of the Ziwani-1 well test, located in the Mnazi Bay Concession, Tanzania. The Ziwani-1 well was spudded on February 1, 2012 and drilled to a final total depth of 2,671 meters. The gas bearing zone between 1,106 and 1,109 meters has now been tested using drill stem equipment.

  05/09/2012 - McDermott Lands EPCI Project Offshore Malaysia

  McDermott International announced that its Malaysian affiliate Berlian McDermott Sdn. Bhd. was recently awarded a significant subsea contract for executing a deepwater engineering, procurement, construction, transportation, installation and commissioning project offshore Malaysia. The value of this contract is included in McDermott's first quarter 2012 backlog.
