Calgary-based oil and gas company Canadian Superior Energy (Amex, TSX: SNG) reported the Kan Tan IV drill rig has arrived at Chaguaramas port in Trinidad & Tobago after leaving Texas earlier this month.
The semi-submersible rig will be loaded with supplies to begin drilling on Canadian`s offshore Intrepid block 5(c) within two weeks, the company said in a statement.
Drilling will begin with the Victory well, followed by the Bounty and Endeavour wells. Work on each well will take 80-100 days, with results for the first expected end-September.
The natural gas prospects are roughly 60 miles (97km) off the east coast of Trinidad.
Intrepid block 5(c)`s unrisked gas reserves exceed an estimated 4Tf3 (113Bm3).
