Houston-based BPZ Resources (Amex: BZP) later this month expects oil production to come back online at the Corvina field on block Z-1 offshore Peru, company president and CEO Manolo Zúñiga said.
Production has been offline since January when an oil tanker BPZ chartered from Peru`s navy caught fire and sank.
An FPSO will go to the CX-11 platform in coming weeks, Zúñiga said in a webcast.
Production on May 1 is due to reach 6,000b/d from wells 21XD, 14D and 18XD and 8,000b/d on October 1 from these three wells plus 20XD and 15D, according to the executive`s presentation.
BPZ last month announced reserve engineers Netherland Sewell and Associates had certified Corvina field`s 3P reserves at 59.8Mb.
