Brazil`s national development bank BNDES has approved financing of 101mn reais (US$52mn) for the nickel unit of metals company Votorantim Metais in Goiás state.
Funds will pay for the replacement of fuel oil boilers for a boiler that will use green coke from oil, BNDES said in a statement. The new equipment can generate 200t/h of steam.
Total investment in the Niquelândia project will amount to 193mn reais.
