Pemex pushes back drilling, completion tender 1mth

Mexican state oil company Pemex`s E&P subsidiary (PEP) has extended by one month its international tender to drill and complete wells in the Gulf of Mexico, according to federal procurement website Compranet.

Bidding rules now are available through March 27 with bids due on April 2.

One of the five companies that had purchased bidding rules for the tender, Dowell Schlumberger de México, asked for a delay of two months.

The other four companies that had purchased bidding rules as of the third project meeting were: Compañia Perforadora México; M-I Drilling Fluids de México; Baker Hughes; and Halliburton de México.

Pemex has scheduled the next meeting to discuss project questions for March 14.

Works are scheduled to begin on June 10 and run nearly two years.

The contract includes drilling the Bolontiku-31, May-7, Sinan-13 and Yaxche-2 wells on the fields of the same names as well as completing the Bolontiku-41, May-3, Sinan-52 and Yaxche-101 wells, according to bidding documents.

The fields are all off the coast of Tabasco state.

Pemex has allotted 215mn pesos (US$19.7mn) and US$87.8mn for the works in its first budgetary year, according to the bidding rules.
