Chile`s state oil company Enap has submitted an EIA for new E&P operations on the Chilean half of Tierra del Fuego island in the country`s Magallanes region, according to documents filed with environmental regulator Conama.

Enap will spend US$25.2mn to drill six wells on the Intracampos block on the island this year and another three in 2009.

The wells will be drilled in the Primavera and Porvenir municipalities, about 260km northeast of the city of Punta Arenas. The specific well locations, however, are still to be determined.
