A bid consortium consisting of Korea Electric Power Corporation, Mitsubishi Corporation and Wärtsilä Corporation has been selected by National Electric Power Company of Jordan (NEPCO) to build and operate IPP3, an independent power producer project in Jordan.

The bid consortium intends to sign a turnkey contract for the project with a separate EPC consortium, led by Wärtsilä. The total output of the power plant will be approximately 600 MW and once completed, it will supply electricity to NEPCO.

After signing of the expected contracts and the financial closing of the project, the power plant order will be announced later this year.
