Petrobras Reports Accident at Santos Basin

Petrobras, said an accident occurred Tuesday on the Petroserv-owned Dynamic Producer floating production, storage and offloading vessel (FPSO). During a well test, a production column burst leaking approximately 160 barrels of oil according to preliminary estimates.
The well was safely shut after the accident and with no possibility of the oil reaching the Brazilian coast, Petrobras said in an emailed statement.
Petrobras was performing a long-term well test at the Carioca Nordeste field in the Santos Basin offshore Brazil. The field is located approximately 182 miles (293 kilometers) off the coast of Sao Paulo state.
This is the second incident to strike offshore Brazil in the past three months.
