Rolls-Royce, the global power system company, has secured a £6 million contract to provide an integrated design, power & propulsion and equipment systems package for an offshore supply vessel to be built at Norwegian ship yard Simek AS for ship owner Atlantic Offshore.

Husky Opens New Lloydminster Facility - 05/17/2012
Husky Energy made three significant announcements in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan, which build on its 65 years of successful operations in the region. The new building is home to the Company's heavy oil operations and will act as a regional data center for Husky's facilities in the Lloydminster area. The 105,000 square-foot three-story office building is designed to accommodate 375 staff Building features include solar panels and a high-efficiency mechanical system to reduce energy consumption.

Drilling Commenced at Nostra Terra's 3rd Oklahoma Well - 05/17/2012
Nostra Terra announced that the third horizontal well in Oklahoma has been spudded. The first and second horizontal wells have finished drilling and are awaiting completion. The first horizontal well is within the Warrior Prospect and operated by Crown Energy Company. The drilling stage has finished according to plan and it is anticipated that completion will be underway within the coming weeks. NTOG has a 10 percent working interest in this prospect.

Magnolia Petroleum to Ramp Production at US Plays - 05/17/2012
Magnolia Petroleum Plc announced its participation in three further wells in proven onshore oil plays in Oklahoma, as part of its expansion strategy to rapidly build production. Magnolia currently has interests in 74 producing properties. A positive update on four wells targeting the Mississippi Lime Formation, Oklahoma, is also provided.

ABB wins $18 million order for subsea pipeline construction vessels - 05/17/2012
ABB recently won an order worth $18 million from Daewoo to supply energy efficient propulsion and electrical power systems for two new deep sea pipeline installation vessels that will build oil transport infrastructure off the coast of Brazil. The two identical vessels will be delivered in 2014.

Net income for the state exceeds $9 billion in the first quarter of 2012 - 05/16/2012
Petrobras announced yesterday (15) financial results for the first quarter of the year, it reported net income of R $ 9.214 billion, up 82% over the fourth quarter of last year, but 16% lower than the same period in 2011. The state justified the decline "due to lower foreign exchange gain on debt and reduced income from investments," which generated a loss of $ 1.6 billion.

Norwegian Oil and Gas Production Down in April - 05/16/2012
The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has announced figures for oil and gas production for April 2012. On Wednesday, the NPD said that preliminary production figures for April 2012 indicate an average daily production of about 2,030,000 barrels of oil, NGL and condensate. This is 11,000 barrels less than for March 2012.
