More gas at Snøhvit

Statoil and its partners on the Snøhvit field have increased the reserves estimate by 20 billion standard cubic metres of gas. Production experience from the field has proven that it is possible to produce more gas from the reservoirs than previously assumed.

Range Resources Reports Continued Drilling Success in Trinidad - 01/27/2012

Range Resources announced Friday continued drilling success at its Morne Diabloe concession onshore Trinidad as it ramps up its reserves production drilling program there. Range reported that following successful logging and completion of the QUN118ST well, initial production testing has seen the well producing at a rate of up to 102 barrels of oil per day on a 5/32-inch choke under natural pressure from the shallow Forrest formation and has stabilized at approximately 84 bopd.

Gas Shows Identified at Blackbird's Montney HZ Well - 01/27/2012

Blackbird Energy Inc. provided an operations update on its Bigstone Montney high natural gas liquids resource play. The Donnybrook Energy Bigstone Hz 15-32-60-22 W5M well (25 percent working interest to Blackbird) encountered 9,003 feet (2,744 meters) of high quality Montney reservoir with strong gas shows and excellent penetration rates.

AWE Acquires Assets Offshore Indonesia - 01/27/2012

AWE Limited (AWE) has executed a Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with a subsidiary of Genting Berhad (Genting) whereby a wholly owned subsidiary of AWE will acquire a 100 percent interest and operatorship of two Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs) offshore Indonesia, including an undeveloped oil field with an estimated 76 million barrels of recoverable oil.

Technip Awarded $117M Wheatstone Gas Platform Contract - 01/27/2012

Technip Oceania, a Perth, Australia subsidiary of France's Technip Group, announced Thursday that it has been awarded a contract worth $117 million (AUD 110 million) by Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering for the detailed design for Chevron's Wheatstone offshore gas-processing platform.

BG Group to increase LNG volumes from Sabine Pass - 01/27/2012

BG Group announced today that it has reached agreement with Sabine Pass Liquefaction, LLC (Sabine Liquefaction), a subsidiary of Cheniere Energy Partners, L.P., to purchase an additional 2 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) over a 20-year period from the Sabine Pass terminal in Louisiana, USA.

Lucas Spuds Tx. Well - 01/26/2012

Lucas Energy, Inc. announced that the Company has spudded the Hagen Ranch Unit No.1HST well in Gonzales County, Texas. The Hagen Ranch No.1HST well is a new lateral from an old horizontal well in the Austin Chalk formation. The well is on the same lease as the two Hilcorp Oil Company drilled, but now Marathon Oil Company operated, Hagen EF No.1H and No.2H wells producing from the Eagle Ford formation. The Hagen Ranch No.1HST well is being drilled with joint venture partners.
