In June 2026, Brazil produced 5.842 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d) of oil and natural gas. The data were released today (August 3) by the ANP in the Monthly Bulletin of Oil and Natural Gas Production.

Regarding oil, 4.475 million barrels per day (bbl/d) were extracted, representing an increase of 4% compared with the previous month and 19.1% compared with the same month in 2025.

Natural gas production in June totaled 217.35 million cubic meters per day (m³/d). This represented an increase of 5.5% compared with May and 19.7% compared with June 2025.

Pre-Salt

Total production (oil + natural gas) in the pre-salt reached 4.788 million boe/d in June, accounting for 82% of Brazil’s production. Production increased by 4.2% compared with the previous month and by 24% compared with the same month in 2025.

A total of 3.699 million bbl/d of oil and 173.19 million m³/d of natural gas were produced from 198 wells.

Natural Gas Utilization

In June, the natural gas utilization rate was 97%. A total of 64.36 million m³/d was made available to the market, while flaring amounted to 6.63 million m³/d. Flaring increased by 12.9% compared with the previous month and by 10.1% compared with June 2025.

The increase in flaring was mainly due to the commissioning of the P-79 platform in the Búzios field.

Origin of Production

During the month, offshore fields produced 98.1% of the oil and 87.6% of the natural gas. Fields operated by Petrobras, either independently or in consortium with other companies, accounted for 87.08% of total production. Production originated from 6,579 wells, including 608 offshore and 5,971 onshore wells.

Fields and Facilities

In June, the Búzios field, located in the pre-salt of the Santos Basin, was the largest oil producer, recording 1.02 million bbl/d. The Mero field, also in the Santos Basin, was the largest natural gas producer, with 48.73 million m³/d.

The facilities with the highest production levels were the Almirante Tamandaré FPSO, in the Búzios Field, for oil, with 253,801 bbl/d; and the Marechal Duque de Caxias FPSO, in the Mero field, for natural gas, with 13.36 million m³/d.

About the Oil and Gas Production Bulletin

In addition to the traditional publication in .pdf format, the bulletin’s data can be accessed interactively using Business Intelligence (BI) technology. The tool allows users to change the reference month for which they want information, as well as select different periods for consultation and apply specific filters for fields, states, and basins.

Variations in production are expected and may occur due to factors such as scheduled shutdowns of production units for maintenance, the start-up of wells, the shutdown of wells for maintenance or cleaning, the beginning of the commissioning of new production units, among others. Such actions are typical of oil and natural gas production and are intended to ensure stable and continuous operations, as well as increase production over time.
