The 31 Brazilian companies that took part in the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC 2025), held from May 5 to 8 in Houston, United States, generated a total of US$316 million in closed deals and expected business over the next 12 months.

The Brazilian participation was supported by the Brazil Machinery Solutions (BMS) export promotion project, a partnership between ABIMAQ (Brazilian Machinery and Equipment Industry Association) and ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency). The initiative brought together 31 companies, including: Açoforja; Altave; Altus; Cladtek; Cognittiv; Conexled; CSL Ropes; Delp; DLC; Engemasa; Flexprin Marine; Gascat; Gavea Group; HBR; Inovaren Partners; L.C.D. Engenharia; Maxepoxy; MB Group; MI Electric Brasil; MRM Logistics; Natec; Neptune Marine; Qualitech; Shape Digital; Supplylog; TechnoFink; Technomar; TGS; The Insight; Vanasa Multigas; and WEB Nordeste.

The Brazilian pavilion was among the busiest at the event, attracting visitors from 30 countries, with the United States, Nigeria, Argentina, Saudi Arabia, and the Netherlands leading the list. The results reinforce the competitive image of Brazilian companies in the oil and gas supply chain.

Participation in OTC Houston is strategic for the Brazilian machinery and equipment industry, according to Patrícia Gomes, Executive Director of Foreign Market at ABIMAQ.
“This presence marked a strategic moment for the Brazilian industry and was unprecedented for our sectoral project. Being present at one of the largest global stages for offshore technology is both a challenge and a major opportunity for international positioning. The event is globally recognized as one of the main networking hubs for the O&G sector—not just in the U.S., but globally, where players seek the latest innovations and solutions. We brought a representative cross-section of companies—from machinery and equipment manufacturers to engineering and logistics service providers, to software and AI developers—demonstrating the strength and diversity of our entire oil and gas value chain.”

“This effort reinforces our commitment to offering increasingly integrated solutions aligned with global energy sector transitions. More than ever, we want to highlight the role the Brazilian industry can play in the energy transition. We believe the oil and gas sector has a key role to play, especially when guided by responsible ESG practices and sustainable innovation.”

Sector Moves Nearly US$1 Billion in 2024

The companies participating in OTC 2025 are part of a market that, in 2024, generated US$920 million, representing a 10% increase compared to the previous year. The main export destinations were the United States (18.3%), Qatar (14.9%), and Saudi Arabia (12.5%), in addition to 47 other countries throughout the year.
The main exported products included: seamless alloy steel pipes for well casing (49%), followed by longitudinally submerged arc-welded pipes used in oil and gas pipelines with a circular section and diameter greater than 406.4 mm (17%), and seamless alloy steel pipes for well casing with a diameter of 229 mm or less (14%).

OTC Sets the Course for the Energy Market

Held annually since 1969 in Houston (USA), with additional editions in Brazil and Asia, the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) is a meeting point for professionals and companies shaping the future of the global energy sector.
The event’s numbers back up this claim: over 1,200 exhibitors across more than 252,000 m² of space, visited by over 30,000 attendees from the U.S. and 107 other countries. The exhibition also featured 14 national pavilions, including Brazil’s, which—with more than 1,000 participants—had the largest international delegation at OTC, second only to the host country.

In addition to the pavilion coordinated by ABIMAQ through the Brazil Machinery Solutions program, OTC also included a Petrobras booth and an institutional pavilion organized by ApexBrasil. Eleven partners participated in the institutional space: ABIMAQ Oil and Gas Council, Brazilian Association of Industrial Engineering (ABEMI), Brazilian Consulate in Houston, Energy Research Company (EPE), Industry Federation of the State of Pará (FIEPA), Federation of Industries of the State of Rio de Janeiro (FIRJAN), Brazilian Institute of Petroleum and Gas (IBP), National Organization of the Petroleum Industry (ONIP), Port of Suape, Pré-Sal Petróleo S/A (PPSA), and Sebrae-RJ.

Beyond networking opportunities, the event offered a robust technical program, with 450 presentations covering a wide range of topics in offshore exploration and production over the four-day conference.
