With the goal of encouraging more women to occupy spaces traditionally seen as male-dominated—such as the automotive industry, where only 20% of the workforce is female—Mobil™ organized a branded content initiative on the eve of International Women's Day. The special action took place in a themed episode of the Acelerados channel, featuring drivers Antonella Bassani, the first woman to win the Porsche Cup, and Letícia Bufoni, a multi-champion skateboarder who has recently ventured into motorsports. They were interviewed by fellow professionals and show hosts Rubens Barrichello and Gerson Campos.
Behind the wheel of a Porsche Panamera 4S E-Hybrid, the guests shared their personal experiences in their respective fields and talked about the team they are part of—sponsored by Mobil™ and one of the only official motorsport teams composed entirely of women.
This initiative aligns with a broader context where, according to the More Than Equal study, women make up only 10% of all competitors across motorsport categories. Brands like Mobil™ have been actively working to change this reality, as highlighted by Marília Goldschmidt, Marketing Manager at Moove, the Brazilian multinational responsible for the production and distribution of Mobil™ lubricants.
“At Mobil™, we believe that motorsport should be a space for everyone, regardless of gender. Even though women represent only 10% of competitors, we know this reality can and must change. With this initiative, we aim not only to celebrate International Women’s Day but also to inspire and encourage more women to step into these spaces. Having Antonella Bassani and Letícia Bufoni behind the wheel on Acelerados reflects our commitment to diversity and to valuing female talent in both sports and the automotive industry. We want to continue supporting and expanding these opportunities so that more women can make history,” she emphasizes.
As Goldschmidt points out, Mobil™'s commitment to gender equity is reflected in various actions carried out throughout the year, including sponsorship initiatives and Influencer Marketing campaigns. These efforts involve selecting female ambassadors who represent the presence of women in traditionally male-dominated environments. Among them are Vans Farias, a test and motocross rider, and Paula Toco, a journalist specializing in freight transport.
The content created through the Mobil™ and Acelerados partnership is available for free on the channel’s YouTube profile. To watch, visit: Acelerados - YouTube.
