A differentiated vessel docked at the port of Rio de Janeiro, on Thursday (26). It is the "Aqua Felix", the 1st ship of the Fast Crew Supplier (FCS) 7011 class of the Dutch Damen Group, a fast vessel for changing the crew of the platforms, being an alternative to transport by helicopter. Launched in 2021, the ship arrives in Rio de Janeiro for the 1st time and will stay in the city until the end of this Friday afternoon (27) to be presented by the shipowner to companies in the offshore energy market.
With the superstructure and hull made of aluminum, the FCS 7011 has 73.6 meters of LOA (length) and 11.2 meters of breadth (width), weighing a total of 105 tons. The vessel is capable of sailing at speeds of up to 40 knots and can accommodate up to 150 people.
The vessel features a variety of motion compensation technologies for safe crew transfers in conditions of up to 3 meters of wave height. Another differential is the ability to transfer a greater number of personnel over longer distances and to serve several facilities in a single round trip, reducing time and operating costs.
