MME/T&B Petroleum
The production of oil and natural gas in Brazil in April reached 2.89 million oil barrels million barrels per day (MMboe / d), an increase of 2.12% compared to the previous month. The data are from the Bulletin of Exploration and Production of Oil and Natural Gas No. 50, produced by the Secretary of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Renewable Fuels of the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME).
Considering only oil was registered the production of 2.29 MMbbl / d, volume 1.33% higher than in the previous month, which was 2.26 MMbbl / d. Regarding natural gas, the total production was 95.8 million cubic meters per day (MMm³ / d), corresponding to an increase of 5.97% over the previous month, which was 90.4 million m³ / d .
Total production of oil and natural gas was obtained from 8,925 wells, 761 offshore and 8,164 onshore. The offshore fields produced 93.3% oil and 76.0% of natural gas of the national total.
Pre-salt
In the same month, the average daily oil production from the pre-salt reservoirs reached 801,000 barrels per day (Mbbl / d), and was obtained from 56 wells. This volume was 9.3% lower than that reached in March 2016, which was 875.5 Mbbl / d. The average daily production of natural gas in the pre-salt reservoirs was 30.8 million m³ / d, volume also 9.3% lower than that produced in the previous month, which was 35.0 million m³ / d.
The Lula field, located in the Santos Basin, was the largest oil producing field in the pre-salt, with an average of 307.9 Mbbl / d, followed by Sapinhoá, with an average of 229.1 Mbbl / d. The well with more production in April is located in the Lula field with average volume of 35.5 Mbbl / d. The production of oil from pre-salt reservoirs corresponded to 33.7% of national production. The Lula field was also the largest producer of natural gas and produced 14.92 million m³ / d.
