Pre-salt

The FPSO Carioca, a platform that produces in the Sépia field, in the pre-salt layer of the Santos Basin, completed one year of operation last Tuesday (23/08). During this period, the platform ship reached an accumulated production of around 39 million barrels of oil (operated production). It is currently the largest platform in Brazil in terms of complexity and production, with around 175,000 barrels/day produced, a volume close to the maximum projected capacity of 180,000 barrels/day.
The unit also has a daily processing capacity of 6 million m3 of natural gas. In the current phase, the associated gas is used to generate electricity for its own consumption and the surplus is reinjected into the reservoir to maintain pressure through two injection wells. The forecast is that by the end of 2022 the FPSO will export gas.
In addition to these two injection wells, today the platform has four production wells interconnected. Advancing in the ramp up process, the unit plans to interconnect three more producing wells and two injectors in the first wave of the project.
With its operation, Petrobras inaugurated production in Sépia, a pre-salt deposit in the Santos Basin that encompasses the Sépia Leste Field (Concession regime) and the Co-participated Area of Sépia, in which the Transfer of Rights and Sharing regimes coexist. of production.
The shared deposit of Sépia is operated by Petrobras (55.30%), in partnership with TotalEnergies EP Brasil Ltda. (16.91%), Petronas Petróleo Brasil Ltda (12.69%), QP Brasil Ltda (12.69%) and Petrogal Brasil S.A. (2.41%).
