SCGÁS recorded an increase of over 12% in the number of residential customers in just one year. In April 2023, the company served 22,646 residences, a number that rose to 25,488 in April 2024. With more than 1,500 km of pipeline, the natural gas network of the distributor reaches over 73 municipalities, and its accelerated growth is driving an increasing number of residential consumers.

Among the cities with the highest natural gas consumption in the urban market, Florianópolis leads, followed by Criciúma, Joinville, and Balneário Camboriú. According to SCGÁS's Multi-Year Business Plan, the goal is to reach more than 48,000 residences and 350 new businesses in the next five years. These numbers reflect the company's ongoing commitment to expanding the supply to the urban market in Santa Catarina.

Natural gas provides several benefits as it is a clean and safe energy option that eliminates the need for storage and prevents accidents. Additionally, in residential buildings, consumption is measured collectively at the Urban Regulation and Measurement Station (ERMU), and the cost is shared among residents according to individual consumption recorded. There are no additional fees, monthly charges, or minimum consumption requirements, and the tariff is the same for all condominiums.

The company serves large condominiums in the state, including Brava Home Resort in Itajaí, Top Vision Residence in Florianópolis, and Reserva da Pedra in Palhoça. Additionally, the distributor also supplies other renowned residential projects such as the Yachthouse Residence Club, a high-standard residential apartment complex composed of twin towers in Balneário Camboriú.

Aiming to further expand the reach of natural gas in the urban segment, the company launched an advertising campaign created by the Ezcuzê agency, focused on inhabited residences. The project targets cities like Balneário Camboriú, Itajaí, and Itapema. The campaign highlights the benefits of piped natural gas, including comfort, safety, and cost savings, attracting new consumers and strengthening the company's presence in these regions.

With continuous investments in infrastructure and advertising, SCGÁS is prepared to continue expanding its customer base and providing high-quality service to more and more homes in Santa Catarina, promoting a safe and sustainable energy option.
