In June, 405,828 investment operations in Treasury Direct securities were carried out, totaling R $ 2.05 billion. During the month, redemptions amounted to R$ 1.72 billion. Thus, there was a net issuance of R$ 330.14 million, the National Treasury reported today (27).
Investments of up to R $ 1,000 represented 67% of investment operations in the month. The average value per operation was R$ 5,056.28.
The securities most demanded by investors were securities indexed to the Selic rate (Treasury Selic), which totaled R $ 1.03 billion, representing 50% of sales. Inflation-indexed securities (IPCA + Treasury and IPCA + Treasury with Semiannual Interest) totaled R $ 590.97 million in sales and corresponded to 28.8% of the total, while fixed-rate securities (Fixed-Term Treasury and Fixed-Term Treasury) totaled R $ 434.61 million in sales, or 21.2% of the total.
In repurchases (early redemptions), securities indexed to the Selic rate, which totaled R $ 1.03 billion (59.9%), also predominated. Securities remunerated by price indexes (Treasury IPCA +, Treasury IPCA + with Semiannual Interest and Treasury IGPM + with Semiannual Interest) totaled R $ 453.66 million (26.3%), fixed-rate securities, R $ 237.39 million (13.8 %).
As for the term, the largest portion of sales was concentrated in securities with maturities between 1 and 5 years, which reached 55% of the total. Investments in securities maturing over 10 years represented 26.8%, while securities maturing in 5 to 10 years corresponded to 18.2% of the total.
Investor Base
In June 2020, the total number of active investors in Tesouro Direto, that is, those that currently have a balance in investments in the program, reached the mark of 1,298,767 people, an increase of 23,354 investors in the month. The number of investors registered in the program increased by 396,697, or 5.7% compared to May 2020, reaching the mark of 7,412,891 people.
Stock
In June 2020, the program's inventory reached R $ 61.77 billion, an increase of 1% over the previous month (R $ 61.17 billion).
Securities remunerated by price index remain the most representative of the stock, totaling R $ 30.11 billion, or 48.7% of the total. Next, there are securities indexed to the Selic rate, totaling R $ 20.42 billion (33%), and fixed-rate securities, which added up to R $ 11.26 billion, with 18.2% of the total.
