More than 65% of global Oil & Gas professionals expect a salary increase in 2014
28% believe their earnings will increase 10% or more.
Michael Page Oil&Gas – global brand focused on recruitment of professionals for technical and engineering positions in oil and gas - surveyed 612 professionals through an online questionnaire published on the global website in the second semester of 2013.
The survey shows that 65% of participants expect their salaries to increase next year. “Oil & Gas professionals are looking forward to what could be a form of payment for achievements, results, challenges which have been overcome, projects that were implemented, as well as commitment shown in the previous year” says Patrick Hollard, Executive Board Director at Michael Page.
28% believe their earnings will increase more than 10%, while 20% expect an increase from 5% to 10% and 18% believe the increase will be by less than 5%.
“Increasingly, the major oil companies around the world have invested in the global knowledge exchange, often printing in the remuneration items such as the professional placement costs and benefits not applied to other areas, such as travel assistance, housing assistance and language courses, and this also counts as part of the remuneration package”, says Hollard.
18% believe the salaries of the segment will decrease in 2014 and 15% believe it will remain the same.
