The 6th International Forum ATOMEXPO 2014 will be held  in June, at Moscow
The State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom will hold the 6th International Forum “ATOMEXPO 2014” in Moscow on June 9-11, 2014.
For the five years past from creation, the Forum “ATOMEXPO 2014” has become one of the major world events during which the most topical issues of the nuclear energy are discussed, and further nuclear power development trends are shaped.
Objective of the Forum “ATOMEXPO 2014” is to provide an opportunity to international nuclear power and processing industry leaders to openly discuss and identify the place and role of nuclear energy in the 21st century energy mix; to study key challenges, problems and development scenarios of world energy market.
The Forum will include an international specialized exhibition and congress (plenary meeting and round table sessions) to be attended by the representatives of international, governmental and non-profit organizations, Russian and foreign companies; as well as leading nuclear industry experts.
The IAEA forecasts indicate stable growth of nuclear power plants number in the world during next 20 years. Nuclear power may contribute to raising energy security, reducing price influence on fossil fuel, mitigating effects of climate change and making national economies more competitive.
Among the speakers of the plenary meeting are invited: Luis Echavarri – OECD, Sergey Kirienko – State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom, Ernest Moniz – United States Department of Energy, Benedict Martins – Republic of South Africa Department of Energy, Csaba Baji – MVM, Luc Oursel – Areva, Vincent de Rivaz - EDF Energy, Kailash Chandra Purohit– NPCIL (India), Dominique Ristori – European Commission’s Directorate-General for Energy (Belgium).
The Forum was held for the first time in Moscow in 2009. The anniversary 5th International Forum “ATOMEXPO-2013” held on June 26-28, 2013 at Mikhailovsky manege, Saint Petersburg, was attended more than 2,000 participants from 42 foreign countries. During round table and thematic sessions more than 800 delegates from 275 organizations delivered their presentations and reports devoted to the most topical issues in the field of nuclear power.
The Forum was held under particular conditions: for the first time in history it was integrated into a major international nuclear power event – the IAEA Ministerial Conference which was held in Saint Petersburg on these very days. For the first time the Forum was attended by the representatives of countries such as: Angola, Belgium, Zambia, Yemen, Indonesia, Lebanon, and Pakistan. A number of prominent international contracts were signed at the Forum, in particular, Cooperation Agreement in the sphere of atomic energy between the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom and foreign companies and state authorities. The Forum’s work was actively covered by representatives of Russian and foreign mass media. The ATOMEXPO-2013 exhibition was represented by 153 companies-exhibitors. Among new participants of the exhibition were: CJSC Promstroysever, CJSC KomplectEnergo Group, Federal State Unitary Special Scientific and Production Enterprise “Eleron”, CJSC Special Metals, OJSC Red Star, Zababakhin All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Technical Physics.
More detailed information about the Forum is available on the event’s web-site http://2014.atomexpo.ru/en.
