The career servant of the Mineral Resources Research Company (CPRM / SGB), Alice Silva de Castilho (photo), took over the company's Hydrology and Territorial Management Directorate and will be responsible for programs such as the Flood Alert and the mapping of areas risk across the national territory. It is the first time in the history of CPRM - which has just completed 51 of its creation, that a woman takes on a management position in the company. The job transmission was carried out on Wednesday, the 12th, and was accompanied by the Secretary of Geology, Mining and Mineral Transformation, Alexandre Vidigal de Oliveira, by directors of the Secretariat and by the employees of CPRM in a virtual event.
As director of Hydrology and Territorial Management, Alice Silva de Castilho, will also have the responsibility to manage, define priorities and establish new partnerships to expand the performance of the Federal Government's Hydrology and Territorial Management areas, in addition to acting in programs and strategic projects of great public value for the country.
Alice Silva de Castilho is a civil engineer and has a master's degree in Water Resources from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UDMG). With 27 years of professional experience in the area of water resources, she has worked for nearly 20 years as a researcher in Geosciences of the Geological Service of Brazil, working on hydrological monitoring projects, integrated hydrogeological studies and operation of alert systems for critical events. He was manager of Hydrology and Territorial Management at the Superintendence of Belo Horizonte and executive coordinator and substitute head of the Department of Hydrology (DEHID).
She was also a mining and environmental consultant for a Canadian company as an area leader for the Hydrology, Hydrogeology and Geochemistry teams. He also worked on the implementation of irrigation projects and at the Sanitation Company of the State of Minas Gerais (Copasa), in the identification of water sources for the water supply of the Ministry of National Integration.
