Altave, a Brazilian technology-based company that develops integrated intelligent monitoring solutions, is bringing ALTAVE Red Zone Management, a complete intelligent video monitoring solution (software and hardware), to the 56th edition of the Offshore Technology Conference - OTC 2024, taking place from May 6th to 9th in Houston, Texas (USA).

"The working environment in the offshore industry presents unique challenges due to the concentration of heavy machinery and people working together. ALTAVE Red Zone Management is specially designed for this environment, enabling the creation of static and dynamic Red Zones that are automatically triggered by equipment movements," says Bruno Avena de Azevedo, co-founder and CEO of Altave.

The solution was developed to complement the portfolio's intelligent video analytics (IVA) technologies, based on artificial intelligence (AI), which transforms and interprets the data collected by cameras installed on the asset, generating alerts for operators and managers about incidents, enabling immediate action. IVA helps control and manage Red Zones, detect non-conformities that put human life at risk, identify people at risk, detect oil or gas leaks, fire outbreaks and other non-conformity actions.

ALTAVE Red Zone Management focuses on personnel protection, offering additional awareness and alerts to ensure safe operations in Red Zones. "The solution offers the flexibility to dynamically adjust the capacity limits of restricted areas according to the specific needs of the environment, thus ensuring continuous safety. Its modular approach allows for customization and integration with other equipment, providing real-time data that allows for immediate action, reviews of behavior to improve processes and more comprehensive HSE management analyses," explains the executive.

In addition to delimiting restricted areas, the system also allows the creation of safe access areas (Green Zone), in which the non-use of safety equipment is permitted, to avoid triggering unnecessary alerts, as well as having other functionalities: definition of maximum and minimum occupancy limits per area, identification and differentiation of authorized groups or people by means of characteristics such as the color of helmets or vests, and integration with wearable devices, which enables the tracking of operators and immediate notifications when people enter restricted and unsafe places.

"ALTAVE Red Zone Management is a complete solution that provides robust security, flexibility and customization, increasing situational awareness, promoting a solid security culture and optimizing operational efficiency," says Bruno Avena.

In addition to the red zone management modules, the solution can include:

  • Identification of people on the ground, generating immediate alerts.
  • Alerting people under suspended load

"We have revolutionized the concept of security to deliver value in every piece of information, easily and intelligently. Intelligent monitoring improves safety by automatically generating alerts and notifications, enabling immediate action by the HSE team and guiding predictive risk analysis. This will contribute to an improvement in the company's safety culture," concludes Altave's president.

ALTAVE AT OTC 2024 CONFERENCE

Bruno Avena de Azevedo, CEO of ALTAVE, is taking part in the Digitalization and Improved Safety in Oil and Gas panel, which will be held from 9.30 a.m. on the last day of OTC 2024 (9).

Sponsored by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Oceanic and Engineering Society (IEEE-OES), the panel will feature global technology-based companies.

The speakers will discuss the evolution of digital security, with the use of tools such as artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (Machine learning), IoT (Internet of Things), virtual reality applications (Virtual reality) and augmented reality (augmented reality).
