The Brazilian Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) raised to the National Treasury, in 2013, U.S. $ 67.5 million in fines in overseeing the national fuel supply. The volume is 11.75% higher than that collected in 2012 from R $ 60.4 million. Information is the annual review of the Superintendent's Supervisory Supply (SFI) 2013. The SFI is responsible for overseeing distribution, gas stations and fuel dealers.

 

The increase in the volume of fines collected, according to the ANP, was motivated primarily by the actions of administrative and judicial collection and facilitating installment debts, making room for old debts were settled. Among the collection actions implemented are the inclusion of companies in Informative credit Unpaid Federal Public Sector (CADIN), inscriptions in outstanding debt and the beginning of tax execution.

 

16,958 enforcement actions were taken in 2013, of which 18% resulted in violations that caused or not a fine. Proportionally, in 2013, fuel distributors were the most accomplished irregularities with violations in 40% of 648 enforcement actions the agency.

 

The main offenses are distributors related to acquiring or product intended for unauthorized source, market or store items in non-compliance with specifications and not submit documentation regarding fuel quality.
