The ANP board yesterday (29/6), extended for three years, the deadline for proving fiscal regularity of ethanol producers who undergo the process of re-registering their facilities, as established in ANP Resolution 26/2012.

The extension meets a demand from the sector to facilitate compliance with ANP requirements set forth in Resolution 26/2012. The deadline would expire on 31 August.

Fuel ethanol (anhydrous and hydrated) in 2016 accounted for 45.5% of all fuel consumption in the Otto Cycle (gasoline C ethanol hydrate) in the country. In addition to its positive impact on the environment and the generation of more than 1 million direct jobs in Brazil (and another 2 million indirect jobs), domestic ethanol production mitigates the impact of net imports of gasoline A on the Brazilian trade balance (2.2 million m³, with a disbursement of foreign exchange equivalent to US $ 682 million).
