The director of ANP Dirceu Amorelli (photo) participated yesterday (13/8) of the Workshop "Investing in Exploration of Offshore Pernambucano", held in Rio de Janeiro.

Amorelli highlighted the advances in the oil and gas industry in Brazil in recent years and the outlook for the next.

“From 2017 to date, we have signed 77 contracts for exploration and production of hydrocarbons, whether in the concession or sharing model, with collection of over R $ 21 billion in signature bonuses. Four more bidding rounds are already planned for 2019. Thus, it is estimated that over the next 10 years over US $ 200 billion will be invested in the national oil and gas industry, with the consequent generation of thousands of jobs. ”

The director added that he believes "in the potential for oil and gas production in the state and in the Pernambuco Basin." In the 16th Bidding Round, scheduled for October 10, five blocks will be offered in the Pernambuco-Paraíba Basin, totaling 3,800 km².
