The ANP updated the list of small and medium-sized companies that operate in the exploration and production of oil and natural gas in Brazil, available on its website. There was an increase in the total number of companies with these profiles, from 25 in 2021 (20 small and five medium-sized) to 36 in 2022 (22 small and 14 medium-sized).

This increase can be attributed to different fronts of action by the ANP to stimulate this segment, such as: reduction of royalties for small and medium-sized companies, incentive to Petrobras' divestment program, extensions of concession contracts through commitments of new investments in the fields and reduction of the royalty rate on the incremental production of each field

As a result of this growth, an increase in onshore production potential is expected in the short and medium terms.
