The ANP received a tribute from Germany, on Thursday (16/11), during the 2nd Biomethane Workshop, held in Florianópolis. The award was granted as a result of the completion of an Agency project funded by WWZ, the arm of the KFW (German development bank), to develop biogas in Brazil.
Biomethane from landfills and sewage treatment plants was regulated by the ANP by Resolution No. 685 of 06/30/17. In addition to increasing the Brazilian matrix of biofuels, the initiative encourages investments in these types of facilities, contributing to equate the adequate waste disposal in several Brazilian cities.
In September, the ANP published the first quality control approval for biomethane, produced by a plant in the state of Rio de Janeiro, whose plant has a production capacity of 10,000 m³ / day. Currently, the Agency analyzes a considerable plant order, located in Fortaleza, CE.
There is also, with the technical intermediation of the ANP, agreements between the Energy and Mining Secretariat of São Paulo and the United Kingdom for possible external financing directed to the development of biomethane plants in the state, where state regulation was issued based on ANP resolutions.
