The National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) published a notice to inform the suspension, due to a judicial decision, of Stage 3 of the 75th Biodiesel Auction, which would be held this Tuesday. The complete updated schedule of the event was also suspended.
To Valor, the ANP affirmed, in a note, that it is "working to reverse the decision".
At the request of the Association of Biofuels Producers of Brazil (Aprobio), the Federal Court of Rio de Janeiro suspended the auction schedule, which provided for the cancellation and restart of Stage 3, which had already been held on August 6. At the time, there were flaws in the system, which accepted bids made after the scheduled closing time.
Last week, the ANP also decided to reduce the mandatory mixture of biodiesel in diesel, from 12% to 10%, and considered the new percentage to redo the event. The productive sector says that the changes in the rules generate losses to the industries and impact on the price of the product.
Distributors said that sufficient volumes of biofuel are not being made available to meet demand with the gradual increase in consumption in recent months.
