On 11/29, at 11:00 am, the ANP will hold the award ceremony for the 2020 edition of the ANP Technological Innovation Award. The event will be broadcast live on the ANP's YouTube channel. The finalists, divided into five categories, were announced on 5/31.

The Award aims to recognize and reward the results associated with research, development and innovation (RD&I) projects, which represent technological innovation of interest to the oil, natural gas and biofuels sector, developed in Brazil by research institutions accredited by the ANP, Brazilian companies and oil companies, with total or partial use of resources from the RD&I Clause present in the Exploration and Production (E&P) contracts.

The 2020 edition includes five categories of projects, two of which with new themes: Reduction of Environmental Impacts and Renewable Energy and Underwater Technologies (both for projects developed by an accredited institution and/or Brazilian company, in collaboration with an oil company). The other categories are: Oil and Gas Exploration and Production (for projects developed exclusively by an accredited institution, in collaboration with an oil company), Oil and Gas Exploration and Production (for projects developed by a Brazilian company, with or without the participation of an accredited institution , in collaboration with an oil company) and Transport, Pipelines, Refining and Supply (for projects developed by an accredited institution and/or Brazilian company, in collaboration with an oil company).

An award for the Academy Personality is planned. The objective is to recognize and reward an individual related to research institutions, who has generated a relevant contribution to research and development of interest to the sector. The edition will also have an award for the Industry Personality, for an individual related to the industry, who has generated a relevant contribution to innovation of interest to the sector.

The winners of each category, of the personality of the academy and of the personality of the industry, will be given a winner's trophy and certificates attesting their status as a winner in the awards. The other finalists will be awarded finalist trophies and certificates attesting to their status as a finalist in the awards.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the schedule for the 2020 edition of the ANP 2020 Technological Innovation Award was extended, with the award ceremony taking place in 2021.
