Bass Strait Oil appoints Steven Noske as CEO

Bass Strait Oil Company Limited (BAS or Company), a petroleum explorer focused on southeast Australia, announced Friday that it has appointed Steven Noske as CEO of the company with effect from Jan. 6, 2014. Noske has had 29 years experience of working in the energy industry, the last 20 years being in senior management roles. His most recent position was Managing Director of WHL Energy. During his career he has held positions with Mitsui, Shell/Petronas/OCP, BHP Billiton and Energy Australia. 
Noske has worked internationally throughout Asia and brings to the Company a strong background in East Coast Australia gas and business development. Noske succeeds Terry White in the CEO position following on from White's expressed wish to step down from the position. The Board of BAS is confident that Noske will be able to build on the progress made by the company during the last year under White's leadership and to implement the Company's forward strategy. 
Noske said "I am delighted to have the opportunity to join BAS and look forward to implementing the forward strategy of pursuing onshore oil and gas opportunities with the objective of building up a more diverse portfolio extending beyong our current focus of South Eastern Australia." The Board of BAS is delighted that Noske has accepted this position and see its as an important step in rebuilding shareholder value.
