Modec has appointed Aqualis Offshore to act as marine warranty surveyor for the integration of the MV29 FPSO at BrasFELS shipyard in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

BrasFELS, meanwhile, has appointed Aqualis Offshore to provide marine warranty services for the marine operations and departure of the P-66 and P-69 FPSOs that the BrasFELS shipyard is building for Petrobras.

Under the contracts, Aqualis Offshore, part of Oslo-listed Aqualis ASA, will oversee loadouts, transportation and installation of modules and high-value equipment, plus quayside mooring and tow to field. The contract values are undisclosed.

All three FPSOs will be installed in pre-salt fields offshore Brazil.

“Our experienced surveyors and engineers are highly familiar with local shipyards and client requirements. That makes it easier for us to add value on site and ensure that the operations are conducted safely and efficiently. Our team’s FPSO track record in Brazil is extensive and we believe these contract awards reflect this,” says Dr Andreas Theophanatos, director for South America, Aqualis Offshore.

Aqualis Offshore’s office in Rio de Janeiro will manage the contract and all associated work.

Aqualis Offshore is a specialised marine and offshore engineering consultancy focusing on the shallow and deep-water offshore segments of the offshore oil and gas industry. Its core services includes concept, FEED and basic design engineering for upgrades and conversions of jack-ups, rigs and other fixed offshore installations, rig moving, marine warranty, dynamic positioning and construction supervision services.
