Brazil Offshore starts with optimistic speech for the oil and gas market

Macaé is responsible for 84% of the national oil production

The tenth edition of Brazil Offshore, an international oil and gas market fair held in the municipality of Macaé, in the northern region of Rio de Janeiro, started with great expectations for the oil and gas market where the players see as strategic the resumption of business .

 

In order to bring the solutions and plans of the offshore market under discussion, the Offshore Brazil Opening Ceremony was attended by authorities and companies that presented a scenario of industry advances and opportunities and possible impacts for economic growth and development.

 

Among those present were the Governor of the State of Rio de Janeiro, Wilson Witzel; the Mayor of the Municipality of Macaé, Aluízio dos Santos Júnior; the vice president of Reed Exhibitions Alcântara Machado, event organizer, Paulo Octavio de Almeida; the Assistant Secretary for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels representing the Ministry of Mines and Energy, Renata Beckert Isfert; the General Manager of the Exploration and Production Operations Unit of the Campos Basin, representing Petrobras, Suen Marcet Santiago de Macedo.

 

Also attending the ceremony were the Vice President of FIRJAN, Raul Sanson; The CEO of ABESPetro, Claudio Makarovsky; the General Director of the National Organization of the Petroleum Industry, Karine Fragoso; and the Director of SEBRAE Rio de Janeiro, Renato Regazzi.

 

Entities bet on energy strengthening 

The Governor of Rio de Janeiro, Wilson Witzel, highlighted the possibility of transforming the state into an energetic power. "We want the gas market to happen in Rio de Janeiro as it is a fundamental point for the growth of the industry in the country. This fact will be marked as the moment of recovery of the Brazilian capacity to generate wealth, "he says. In relation to the oil and gas market there is a concern to boost the naval industry and increase the volume of moorings. "In the medium term, with these prospects, will be invested 250 billion dollars generating more than 150 thousand jobs in the state of Rio," he concludes.

 

Another important name that was present at the Ceremony, the mayor of Macaé Aluízio dos Santos Júnior, highlighted the importance of natural gas. "We discussed soberly the issue of the mature fields and now it will be gas. I am sure that Rio de Janeiro is ready to make this move.The oil and gas industry is prepared to turn oil into a job. Electricity and gas in a free market. It is necessary to return jobs to the state of Rio de Janeiro, "he concluded.

 

General Manager of the Campos Basin Exploration and Production Operations Unit, Suen Marcet, highlighted the business data in the region. "The investment portfolio of our business plan totals $ 84.1 billion and the bulk of that is dedicated to the exploration and production sector, which represents $ 68.8 billion. brings us together in this event, the reheating of the sector and the positive projections in view of the success of the last auctions, "he said.

 

The vice president of Reed Exhibitions, pointed out that the fair is at the top of the segment. "We have already managed to attract more than 2,500 companies to Macaé and today we have almost 600 brands, which is a 10% increase compared to the 2017 edition. This makes Reed Exhibition say that this is the third largest offshore event of the world, behind Houston and Aberdeen. We are placing Macaé in the national and international market, "he said.

 

Commemorative edition confirms the potential of the fair 

Brasil Offshore has won recognition for bringing together companies from the entire productive network of the oil sector, promoting the best opportunities for networking and partnerships, in a highly technical environment and aimed at accelerating business in this segment.

 

In 20 years, the fair generated one billion five hundred million reais in business, and was attended by more than 2,500 brands and 200 thousand professionals with great decision-making power and effective capacity to carry out business.

 

The main objective of this edition is to strengthen the network of suppliers and prepare it to meet the demands and projects of the auction winners, offering a highly technical environment with unique opportunities for professional improvement.
