Distributed generation can reach 12 GW in installed capacity. With R $ 60 billion in investments, it is estimated that 1.35 million new adopters of the micro or mini-generation system distributed by 2027. Data were presented yesterday, 27, by the Secretary of Energy Planning and Development of the Ministry of Mines and Energy. , Reive Barros (photo), during the 5th edition of InterSolar South America, South America's largest solar fair, held in São Paulo.

According to data from the 2027 Decennial Energy Expansion Planning (PDE 2027), only in 2018 Brazil was the country that installed the most solar source in the world with 1.2 GW of installed power. With 164 GW of theoretical potential for distributed generation, alternatives for generation expansion were also presented by the Secretary at the event.

Among these alternatives, the São Francisco River Integration Project with integrated solar / hydroelectric operation, such as hybrid and floating photovoltaic plants is one of them. The goal is to guarantee water security to 12 million inhabitants in 390 municipalities in the states of Pernambuco (PE), Ceará (CE), Paraíba (PB) and Rio Grande do Norte (RN). The total investment expected with the project is $ 15 billion. The generation of 50,000 jobs during installation is also expected.

PDE 2027 also points out that total energy supply will rise from 293 to 367 million tons of oil equivalent (toe). Thus, it is estimated that 47.5% is from renewable sources against the current 43.2%. For electricity supply, there will be a growth from 624 to 889 terawatt hours (TWh) in the period, with 86.5% from renewable sources compared to the current 80.4%.

Also participating in the panel were the president of the Energy Research Company (EPE), Thiago Barral, the president of the Electric Energy Trading Chamber (CCEE), Rui Altieri, the president of the National Electric System Operator (Luiz), Luiz Eduardo Barata, and the executive president of the Brazilian Association of Photovoltaic Solar Energy (Absolar), Rodrigo Lopes Sauaia.
