Georadar GroupCelso Magalhães, geophysicist and geologist, founder of Georadar Group is resigning the position of New Business president of the company to pursuit new personal and professional challenges. Remaining as member of the group, the officer is in the position up to December 31.
Georadar is a Brazilian company specialized in provision of onshore and offshore geophysical survey services, environmental and geotechnical diagnoses to oil and mining industry. Having over than 12 years of experience in the market, the company strengthened its operation in the national scenario, originating Georadar Group, consolidated and today recognized as a national reference in the field of geoservices and as a leader in terrestrial seismic.
Celso Magalhães had started the company control in 2003 with only two employees in the personnel. Currently, Grupo Georadar has 1.200 collaborators, having reached 4.500 employees in the end of 2012.
About Celso Magalhães
Born in Manhuaçu (MG), Celso completed a technical course of Mining at Escola Técnica Federal de Ouro Preto, from 14 to 17 years old. When he was 17, he was admitted at Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto to attend undergraduate course of Geological Engineer; when 18, concurrently, he began to teach at Escola Técnica Federal de Ouro Preto. He graduated with 22 years, when he was hired at Petrobras as a Geophysicist. He completed a graduate course of Geophysics and, afterwards, graduated as Master of Geophysics at Universidade Federal da Bahia. He performed a number of operating activities in field, teaching and management of exploration, prospection and production of oil. He leaved Petrobras in 1991 and formed the Brain Tecnologia, a company which provided geology and geophysics services, in which he was the CEO up to 2003. He leaved it after acquiring the Georadar, a company in which he was CEO for 8 years and president of New Business for 3 years.
