CEPSA farms into Suriname block 53

The block work program includes a 3D seismic program and two exploration wells.

Apache Corp. reports  that CEPSA Suriname SL has farmed in to a 25% participating interest in Suriname's block 53, an 867,117-acre (3,509 sq km) area located in 1,640–5,900 ft (500–1,800 m) of water about 80 mi (130 km) offshore. 
In 2012, Apache Suriname Corp. LDC, an Apache subsidiary, signed a production sharing contract for block 53 with Staatsolie Maatschappij Suriname NV (the Surinamese national oil company). The block 53 work program includes a 3D seismic program and two exploration wells. Apache retains a 75% participating interest in the block, while Staatsolie has an option to obtain a 20% participating interest in commercial fields discovered on the block.
