The North America and Latin America marketing team for CGG GeoSoftware has earned first place in the Qualitative and Quantitative Market Research category of an annual marketing research award bestowed by the Business Marketing Association (BMA) of Houston. This is the first time CGG has entered the association’s annual Lantern Awards competition.
The marketing team created a survey to gain a greater understanding of its target audience under the geological and geophysical umbrella - geologists, geophysicists, petrophysicists, reservoir engineers and completions engineers. An initial telephone invitation encouraged prospective clients to participate in a comprehensive and highly confidential research study on G&G software and services. Respondents received a complimentary summary of the results in an analyzed report.
Mike Eyre, North America Region Manager, GeoSoftware, CGG, said: “We recognized that existing industry studies failed to focus on the usage and satisfaction of G&G software users within the oil and gas exploration and production industry in North America. We utilized the research approach to gain the trust and attention of our key prospects while using the survey as a tool to effectively qualify accounts as good sales leads for our technology.”
BMA Houston celebrated 26 years of marketing excellence during its 2014 premiere awards event in Texas. BMA Houston created the Lantern Awards of Texas for one sole purpose – to highlight top-quality creative and strategic business-to-business communications.
