The government will hire consulting firm Deloitte to implement a new management model for state-owned ports. The R$10 million-contract will be signed in the coming days, said minister of Ports Antonio Henrique Silveira, Thursday at a ceremony to appoint the new president of the Dock Company of the State of São Paulo (Codesp), Angelino Caputo e Oliveira. 

The minister said that the great challenge to modernize the Brazilian port management — one of the pillars of the new Ports Law, which will be one year year old in June — is, in the long run, to reduce the efficiency differences in relation to the best ports’ standards.
