The production of the electrical and electronic industry grew 5.9% in September 2020 compared to the immediately previous month, with seasonal adjustment. This is what the IBGE data aggregated by the Brazilian Association of the Electrical and Electronic Industry (Abinee) show. This was the fifth consecutive growth.

With these increases, the sector's production surpassed the levels observed at the beginning of this year, a period prior to that affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

When compared to September 2019, the sector's production grew 14.0%. This was the third consecutive month in which production surpasses that recorded in the same periods last year.

This increase was due to the 15.5% increase in the electronic area and the 12.6% increase in the electrical area. It is also noteworthy that the sector's physical production index verified in September 2020 was the highest since April 2015.
