T&B Petroleum/Press Office MME
Two more ordinances were published by MME for the classification of priority projects in the biofuels sector, with a view to issuing incentive debentures. The measure encourages the expansion of investments by raising funds for infrastructure projects aimed at implementing, expanding, maintaining, recovering, adapting or modernizing enterprises, with tax exemption for investors and stimulating job and income growth in the sector .
This time, the companies Colombo Agroindustria S.A. and Inpasa Agroindustrial S.A. had their projects approved. Together, these projects amount to R $ 2.3 billion in investments, which have already reached the level of R $ 9 billion in biofuels activity since the approval of the first priority projects in the sector in October 2019.
The Inpasa Sinope-MT Project is the first project aimed at the production of corn ethanol and the industrial implantation of a plant. This is the result of the stimulus of the National Biofuels Policy, RenovaBio, which recognized the strategic role of biofuels in the national energy matrix.
Despite the adverse effects of the fall in oil prices and the worldwide outbreak of the coronavirus, which forced many of its servers to work remotely, MME continues its strategic actions to face the crisis and guarantee supply.
