The largest and only fair in the world exclusively dedicated to the bioenergy production chain, FENASUCRO & AGROCANA swore in this Tuesday (4th), the executive and president of UNICA (Union of the Sugarcane and Bioenergy Industry), Evandro Gussi , as honorary president of the 2023 edition of the event.
The homage took place in Brasília/DF and was attended by the director of FENASUCRO & AGROCANA, Paulo Montabone, as well as representatives of the sector such as the president of Copercana and president emeritus of the fair, Antonio Eduardo Toniello; the president of CEISE Br, Rosana Amadeu; the superintendent of the Toniello group, Ricardo Toniello; and the board member of CEISE Br and HR director of the Viralcool group, Claudia Toniello.
"Evandro Gussi stands out for his dedication to the bioenergy sector since he was a federal deputy, as rapporteur for RenovaBio. Therefore, it is a pleasure to have him as honorary president of our fair, at a time when we are gaining worldwide strength" Montabone said.
Also according to the director of FENASUCRO & AGROCANA, the choice of Gussi's name was due to his work and reputation at the forefront of global sustainability, being an ambassador of the sector around the world.
Joy and responsibility
For Gussi, assuming the honorary presidency of the 29th edition of the fair is a joy and responsibility.
"We know how much the event contributes to the development of Brazilian agribusiness. In the bioenergy sector, we have a highly technological industry, recognized throughout the world, which produces renewable and sustainable energy. We also have a very relevant supply chain, allied to the new era of the circular economy. Bringing all this together in connections aimed at a low-carbon economy is looking to the future of Brazil", summarized the honoree.
Gussi is president of UNICA, a lawyer and was a federal deputy for São Paulo from 2015 to 2019, acting as coordinator of the Mixed Parliamentary Front for Biodiesel and member of the Parliamentary Front for Agriculture.
As a parliamentarian, he authored the bill that gave rise to the National Biofuel Policy, RenovaBio. The program to encourage the production of biofuels, based on predictability and environmental, economic and social sustainability.
