ExxonMobil Subsidiaries in Malaysia Appoints See Kok Yew as New Chairman

He succeeds J. Hunter Farris.

The ExxonMobil Subsidiaries in Malaysia announced Sunday that See Kok Yew has been appointed as the president of ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Malaysia Inc. and chairman of the ExxonMobil Subsidiaries in Malaysia with effect from Feb. 15. He succeeds J. Hunter Farris who will relocate to Houston and assume the position as the new vice president, Global Engineering of ExxonMobil Production Company.
Prior to his appointment, See was production manager for ExxonMobil Production Company businesses in the U.S. Lower 48, based in Houston, Texas. See started his career with ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Malaysia Inc. (EMEPMI) in 1990 and held various technical, supervisory and management positions in Kerteh, Terengganu and Kuala Lumpur.
In 2003, he was assigned overseas to ExxonMobil Production Company in Houston, Texas, as regional advisor to the vice president for Asia Pacific/Middle East. Two years later, he was appointed as the operations manager for the Gulf of Mexico assets in ExxonMobil U.S. Production.
In 2007, See moved to the Exxon Mobil Corporation head office in Irving, Texas to become the senior upstream advisor to the corporate senior vice president.
In 2009, he returned to Houston to assume the post of the U.S. production manager where he was responsible for ExxonMobil Production Company assets in the Gulf of Mexico, Mobile Bay, Alabama, offshore California, the Rockies in Wyoming and Colorado, and onshore assets in Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas.
Born and raised in Penang, See holds a civil and structural engineering degree from the University of Malaya.
