These adjustments are passed on to state-level piped gas distributors, who must update their tariffs for residential, commercial, industrial, and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) segments. In Rio de Janeiro, consumers in the interior of the state saw an average reduction of 4.1% in CEG Rio's tariff, while the metropolitan region served by CEG experienced an average reduction of 2.5% in gas costs in the month of August.
Using an industrial consumer with a demand of 10,000 m³/day as a basis, when comparing this new table with the one in effect between May and July, the average reduction in the natural gas tariff for CEG and CEG Rio was 4% and 5%, respectively. In this scenario, the interior of Rio de Janeiro maintains the second most competitive tariff in the Southeast region, while the Metropolitan Region of Rio ranks fifth.
Comgás, in the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo, continues to have the most competitive tariff in the Southeast region. ESGás, in Espírito Santo, ranks third, followed by Gasmig in Minas Gerais in fourth place. Other São Paulo concessionaires, Naturgy São Paulo Sul and GasBrasiliano, ranked sixth and seventh, respectively.
In addition to the Southeast region comparison, for an industrial consumer with a demand of 10,000 m³/day, it is also possible to compare with other distributors in the country. In this scenario, CEG Rio has the ninth most competitive tariff. CEG ranks fifteenth among the 19 distributors nationwide that were analyzed.
The calculator considers 19 out of the 27 natural gas distributors in the country, which provide the tariffs practiced by each state in the natural gas market. The tool calculates the final natural gas consumer tariff for the captive market, which includes the cost of acquiring the natural gas molecule, transport tariff, distribution margin, and taxes.
