The first oil transfer operation from the FPSO Carioca - the first definitive production system installed in the Sépia field, in the Santos Basin pre-salt - destined oil for the production of oil products at the Henrique Lage Refinery (Revap) and at the Paulínia Refinery ( Replan) in São Paulo. The oil produced in the field was transported by the Rio Grande ship, which unloaded 44,650 m³ of the product at the São Sebastião Terminal (SP). From there, the oil went to refineries through pipelines.

FPSO Carioca is the largest operating platform in Brazil in terms of complexity. When it reaches peak production, it will also be the largest unit in terms of oil production. The platform is located approximately 200 km off the coast of the state of Rio de Janeiro, at a water depth of 2,200 meters, and has the capacity to process up to 180,000 barrels of oil daily and compress up to 6 million m³ of natural gas. In September, the unit produced, on average, 48 thousand barrels per day. The flow of oil production from the FPSO is carried out by relief ships and the gas production is transported through the pre-salt pipeline routes.

Sépia - With the start of production in the Sépia Field, Petrobras reaffirms and consolidates the focus of its strategy on reservoirs in deep and ultra-deep waters, in projects that are premised on safety and respect for the environment, accelerating the generation of value for the society. Petrobras masters offshore oil production technology with safety, efficiency, lower cost and lower emissions. It has large reserves with high potential to generate value for the company and return to society.
