According to recent data published in the Oil and Natural Gas Production Bulletin by the National Agency of Petroleum (ANP), four FPSOs operated by MODEC ranked among the 10 largest producers in Brazil. The FPSO Guanabara MV31 stood out as the leading oil and gas producer of 2024, maintaining the position it also held in 2023. Meanwhile, the FPSOs Carioca MV30, Almirante Barroso MV32, and Cidade de Itaguaí MV26 ranked third, fifth, and tenth, respectively.

“This result fills us with pride. More than 26% of the national oil and gas production in 2024 came from MODEC’s fleet, with an average daily production of over 1.1 million barrels of oil equivalent. This achievement is the result of our teams’ dedication, our strong partnerships with clients, and the robust technical infrastructure we have in Brazil to meet operational needs,” explains Rodrigo Rocha, Business Development Manager at MODEC.

Pre-salt Record Holders

The FPSO Guanabara MV31, which has held the highest average daily production in the pre-salt since August 2023, reached a new record in November. The vessel, located in the Mero field, produced 184,263.18 barrels per day of oil and 12.04 million cubic meters per day of gas, marking the highest daily production average in Brazil’s history. Until August 2023, the record for highest daily production belonged to the FPSO Carioca MV30, also operated by MODEC, in the Sépia field.

Another record achieved by MODEC’s fleet was the shortest time to reach full production capacity. The FPSO Almirante Barroso MV32 reached this milestone in just 146 days after first oil.

Largest Producing Field

The Tupi field, in the pre-salt of the Santos Basin, was the largest oil and gas producer, accounting for 23.82% of offshore oil production in 2024. In this field, MODEC operates the FPSOs Cidade de Angra dos Reis MV22, Cidade de Mangaratiba MV24, and Cidade de Itaguaí MV26.
