By 2050, electricity consumption will more than double worldwide. That means we are going to rely more on electric power, especially when the more we growth the sales of electric vehicles and new connected and smart devices. But what does this scenario mean for the energy sector? What steps does our country need to take to ensure a better future? These and many other questions will be discussed during FIEE Smart Energy, a trade show that will take place from 23rd to 26th of July in São Paulo Expo (SP), and will bring together the entire chain of energy generation, transmission, distribution and commercialization to discuss on the scene of the electricity sector in Brazil.

During the four-day event, visitors will have access to dozens of lectures led by some of the leading experts in the national energy market. "With the growth in demand, our companies understood that the replacement of non-renewable sources, looking for clean options, is the only possible path to the segment's sustainability. In addition to this, we have more and more consumers seeking solutions to generate their own energy. These trends are causing a huge revolution in the energy scenario, so it is important talk with the consumer in a practical way. This is the focus of FIEE Smart Energy technical content", says Lucia Mourad, manager of the fair.

To stimulate discussion, FIEE Smart Energy will feature exclusive content, including the 9th edition of CIERTEC Brasil, promoted by BRACIER, and the CIGRE Seminar. Besides, will occur the first Green Rio Seminar in São Paulo, exploring the European experiences in Energy and Sustainability, with the participation of companies and entities from France, Germany, Luxembourg and Brazil. The fair will also host panels on the innovation of energy storage systems, new technologies for energy efficiency and the regulatory aspects of the segment, always with the presence of renowned experts from the public and private areas.

With diversified programming, FIEE Smart Energy aims to facilitate the dialogue between the agents of the area and the consumers of the national market. "Today, more than 50% of the energy consumed across the planet is directed to industries and much of that volume is wasted. It is estimated that at least 40% of the energy devoted to manufacturing is lost annually. We need to change that scenario and technology and debate are essential to that", affirms Lucia.

Surveys from consultants such as McKinsey and Forrester point out that new technology solutions will enable companies to reduce their costs by approximately 20% - with up to 30% increase in their productions. "Debating the energy challenges is good for everyone. Energy companies win, society becomes more sustainable and Industry is also making progress. According to the Brazilian Industrial Development Agency (ABDI), for example, the adoption of intelligent tools can generate more than R$ 7 billion in savings to companies in our country, only in relation to energy consumption", he says.

These advances will be exhibited on the fair. FIEE Smart Energy will show products and ideas of several national and international companies. It will also have space for business roundtables and for the “Arena de Comercialização de Energia”, an unprecedented project designed in partnership with Abraceel (Brazilian Association of Energy Marketers) to facilitate the access of large energy consumers to the main marketers of the country, showing the opportunities brought by the direct commercialization of energy.

FIEE Smart Energy has as key partners CPFL Soluções and SEW Eurodrive and will receive the main brands in the Brazilian and international market, such as Comerc, Pacto Energia, América Energia, Baterias Moura, Panasonic, Powersafe and Siemens.
