Gamesa will deliver 13 G114 2.1MW turbines to the Vila Acre project in the windy northeast state.

It is Gamesa's first contract with Voltalia, which had previously ordered Acciona turbines for its Brazilian projects.

According to Make Consulting, Gamesa's market share in Brazil almost tripled in 2015 from 10% to 29%.

In October 2015, Gamesa won a 206MW deal with local conglomorate Votorantim Energia to supply seven projects in Piaui, east Brazil. The projects were also using G114 2.1MW turbines.
