The easy days of oil and gas production appear to be over as companies must find new energy resources in deep water or the Arctic regions where harsh climatic conditions create the ultimate challenge.
Global gas industry leaders will share their knowledge and expertise on the many challenges presented by offshore and subsea environments, and showcase their technical solutions at the upcoming Gastech the world’s leading LNG and natural gas conference and exhibition.
Gastech 2014 will host a day-long seminar on offshore and subsea technology as part of its Centres of Technical Excellence programme, a series of free exhibition seminars taking place at the KINTEX exhibition and conference center in Seoul, South Korea, from March 25 to 27, 2014.
The Gastech CoTEs technical seminar programme is dedicated to delivering knowledge, education and awareness of technological innovations in the gas industry.
Topics to be covered during the stream touch upon FLNG, FPSO, and subsea technology as well as explore the prospects for compressed natural gas ships that a cheaper alternative to LNG carriers, and oil and gas separation equipment.
“The advent of CNG ships will be the technical game-changer of the next decade,” said David Stenning, president and chief operating officer of Canada’s Sea NG. “They will allow the development of smaller offshore gas fields and provide a less expensive and simpler way to ship gas in regional markets such as Asia.”
Stenning is one of confirmed speakers who will share the latest developments at the offshore and subsea technology CoTES stream, which will also include senior representatives from ClassNK of Japan, Australia’s Woodside Energy, WorleyParsons of Canada, ASCOM Separation of the Netherlands, Advanced Insulation of the UK, and Houston-based Merichem and Baker Hughes.
“ASCOM Separation has a lot of experience, knowledge and technologies in the separation of gas and liquids,” said Mika Tienhaara, the company’s CEO. “It is natural for us to meet the people of this industry at a venue like Gastech, which we think is well recognized.”
Offshore and subsea technology will be one of the nine CoTES streams at this year’s event, which also include LNG & gas carrier ship technology, LNG fuel technology, liquefaction, power generation, natural gas vehicles, health, safety, security & environment, pipeline infrastructure and NGL & GTL technology.
The Offshore & Subsea Technology CoTEs stream takes place at the Gastech Exhibition on Wednesday 26 March 2014 at KINTEX1.
