Global geopolitical dynamics have been directly influencing the oil and gas exploration and production sector in Brazil’s Northeast region. In a scenario marked by instability and constant change, the market has experienced frequent fluctuations affecting prices, redirecting investments and requiring companies to adapt their strategies. This highly relevant topic will be discussed on the opening day of Bahia Oil & Gas Energy, taking place from May 27th–29th at the Salvador Convention Center, Bahia – Brazil.

The event brings together conferences, panels and thematic arenas connecting companies, specialists, investors and government representatives. Its objective is to promote knowledge exchange and encourage solutions that combine economic development with environmental responsibility.

In addition to discussions on innovation and sustainability, the program includes topics such as exploration and production, refining, the natural gas market and investment opportunities.

With free visitor access, Bahia Oil & Gas Energy is expected to gather thousands of participants and further reinforce the role of Brazil’s North and Northeast regions as strategic hubs for the sector. BOGE covers onshore and offshore exploration and production (upstream), transportation (midstream), refining (downstream), petrochemicals, distribution, naval operations and energy integration.

As in the previous edition, the 2026 Technical Section and Academic Congress received papers from outside Brazil. Partnerships were established with foreign institutions that organize international congresses, enabling their members to submit academic work to BOGE while also creating opportunities for Brazilian researchers to present their papers abroad.

BOGE26 will also feature a Business Matchmaking Session promoting commercial exchanges between national and international companies, buyers and suppliers operating in the sector.

A new addition to BOGE26 is the Training Courses program, designed for students, professionals and individuals interested in oil and gas activities.

Two main conferences

The program also includes two main conference tracks, one focused on oil and the other on gas and derivatives. Several thematic arenas will take place, including the ESG Arena dedicated to environmental, social and governance discussions. The event will also feature an Innovation Arena, Commercial Arena, Technical Visits, Investment Arena and the “Talents of the Future” program, an initiative focused on career guidance for students in the final years of technical and engineering programs.

The event already has master sponsorship confirmed from key industry companies such as Petrobras, Transpetro, PetroReconcavo, Brava, Bahiagás and Acelen.
