Following a string of high-profile international successes, chemical analysis specialists OMMICA has been spurred on by a ‘bullish’ Q1.

The firm, based in Edinburgh, Scotland, has amassed a scope of work that accounts for 40% of its expected annual sales for the year despite still being in March.

As a proven authority on developing chemical treatment methodologies, OMMICA has a 20-year track record on supporting energy production globally. Supplying a portfolio of portable chemical analysis testing kits, OMMICA provides operators with a fundamental and accessible resource to conduct effective analysis of methanol, monoethylene glycol (MEG), and THPS levels in oil, condensate, and water. Each kit is manufactured entirely in-house by its expert team before distribution from its research lab.

The success achieved in Q1 follows a positive trend over the last two years, in which OMMICA has expanded its clientele to global operators. Recent contracts will see the delivery of MEG and methanol kits to enhance the operational functionality of oil and gas production fields in the Norwegian Continental Shelf, Western Africa, and within the UK’s North Sea.

OMMICA’s testing kits have been proven to support field scientists and engineers to maximise resources and reduce wastage of all kinds, including time and financial. The use OMMICA kits will allow personnel to measure MEG, methanol, and THPS levels on-site, with results in under one hour.

Proceeding into Q2, OMMICA anticipates recent success and global reach to maintain the pace, with additional projects on the horizon in Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Guyana, Qatar, and Angola. These forthcoming projects will catapult OMMICA’s expected sales significantly.

Duncan Baillie, Business Development Manager, commented: “Q1 has placed us in an incredibly strong position for the remainder of the year. We are currently in an exciting phase where we will shortly be getting feedback and results from the projects that have already implemented our technologies, while we are preparing to distribute more kits globally. Supporting a mix of repeated customers and first-time buyers, as well as working with intermediaries and directly with the operators, has highlighted a greater awareness of our product line and the positive role they play in energy security. Both established oil fields and emerging locations will experience the benefits of OMMICA over the coming months.”

About OMMICA: After initially establishing its methodology in 2011, OMMICA has been an independent organisation since 2019. Its team of chemical analysis experts possess over 25 years of experience supporting operators in the energy industry. Based in Scotland, OMMICA manufactures, develops, and distributes its easy-to-use chemical analysis test kits from its Edinburgh-based headquarters.

Redefining convenience in chemical analysis of methanol, monoethylene glycol (MEG), and tetrakis (hydroxymethyl)phosphonium sulfate (THPS) samples through its in-house developed methodology, OMMICA provides rapid results in under one hour without sacrificing accuracy. From oil to condensate and water, OMMICA’s portable colourimetric analysis kits ensure operators have all the information they need to manage risk, optimise resources, save time and money, and ensure environmental compliance by preventing unnecessary crude discounting.

Thanks to its highly skilled team, OMMICA has an international reach, supporting large-scale operations in over 25 countries across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, South America, and Asia.
