Graça Foster fourth at Fortune’s most powerful women in business list

Petrobras CEO is the only brazilian in the rankings with 50 names.

The Petrobras CEO, Maria das Silva Foster, ranked fourth in the list that gathers the 50 most powerful business women in the world by Fortune magazine, released early on the last Thursday (6) in New York (USA). For the first time, the magazine made a list unifying classification for all executive - before there was a list for the United States and another for the other countries. Graça Foster is the first non-American on the list, behind Mary Barra, president of General Motors and placed first, Ginni Rommety, IBM, listed second, and Indra Nooiy, PepsiCo, third.
According to the magazine, to make the final list, the editors evaluated with the same criteria used in rankings made previously to measure the power of each executive: the size and importance of the business that they rule, financial health, management and career history. This time, the editors have given priority to the international nature led by executive and its position in the global community of business operation.
Degree in chemical engineering, Marias das Graças Silva Foster, work at Petrobras  for 33 years and became the first woman to hold the presidency of the company in February 2012. Graça Foster also doubles up as counselor and director of the International Directors of Petrobras, and is chairman of the Board of Directors of Transpetro, Gaspetro and the Board of Directors of the Brazilian Institute of Oil, Gas and Biofuels (IBP). It is also a member of the Board of Directors Petrobras Distribuidora (BR) and Petrobras Biofuels SA (PBIO).
In October 2013, the second consecutive year, Graça Foster was named by Fortune Magazine among the most powerful executive business women who work outside the United States. Both in 2012 and in 2013, the president was first on that list. In May 2013, Graça Foster was named one of 20 most powerful women in the world and the third most influential woman in the Business category by Forbes Magazine.
