The Guamaré asset, located on the white coast of Rio Grande do Norte, is one of the most important for Petrobras in the Northeast in terms of volume of oil and treated water. All production of the state's maritime and terrestrial fields is drained to Guamaré. The Potiguar Clara Camarão Refinery (RPCC) and the Fluid Processing and Treatment Unit (UTPF) of the Operational Unit of Rio Grande do Norte and Ceará make up the Industrial Asset of Guamaré and are part of the industrial complex that also houses the Waterway Terminal of Guamaré (Transpetro), the Petrobras Distribuidora base, as well as the Environmental Defense Center (CDA) and the Mangue Seco Wind Farm. The RPCC produces all gasoline consumed in Rio Grande do Norte and the aviation kerosene distributed to the market of the state of Ceará.
The general manager of the Petrobras Operational Unit in Rio Grande do Norte and Ceará, Tuerte Amaral Rolim explains that the integration of the Potiguar Clara Camarão Refinery into Exploration and Production assets will optimize the structure and the industrial process at the pole. "Nothing changes in RPCC and in the operation of Petrobras in Rio Grande do Norte. What changes is the management model. We will not have layoffs and the refinery has not been demoted. Now we are going to work with an integrated process between the two areas, which will improve the structure, reorganize the processes and make the business more efficient, "he emphasized during the visit of Guamaré Industrial Asset held on Friday (1/12) The refinery has hit two records of QAV production, currently the unit has the capacity to meet a demand of 21 thousand m3 / month of aviation kerosene, considering the quality required for the commercialization of this derivative.
During the visit to Guamaré Industrial Asset, Tuerte also pointed out that Petrobras maintains a consolidated infrastructure in the state, responsible for the exploration and production of oil and gas in 66 concessions on land and 12 at sea. "The production in Rio Grande do Norte is 48 thousand barrels of oil per day and 930 thousand cubic meters of gas per day.At the sea, we have 29 platforms connected by submarine pipelines. In land we have 5,000 wells and 130 collection stations which send oil and gas to 2,000 kilometers of oil and gas pipelines to the Industrial Pole of Guamaré, "he said.
Rolim also highlighted the company's permanence in the state and the investment of approximately R$ 800 million planned for Rio Grande do Norte this year, according to the 2017-2021 Business and Management Plan. "In 2017, the company is investing R$ 453 million in water and steam injection projects in Ubarana, Estreito and Alto do Rodrigues. In 2017, the company invested approximately R$ 1.65 billion in production activities of oil in the RN, "explained the manager of Petrobras.
